YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY WELCOME
33° 50’ – 116° 23’
Escape to the country in beautiful Boyup Brook. Nestled on the banks of the Blackwood River, less than three hours from Perth, Boyup Brook is the gateway between the Great Southern and the South West, making it the ideal base for your holiday to explore these two regions.

VISITOR INFORMATION CENTRE

Picture
You’ll find us right in the heart of town. Our building is the second oldest in the Shire and was constructed in 1910 as the ‘Agricultural Hall’. It has served in many different capacities over the years and has been the home of the Visitor Information Centre since 1987.

Whether you’re passing through, spending the day, or staying in Boyup Brook for a few days or more, pop into the Visitor Information Centre for all you need to know on local attractions and activities. We have information on sister towns of the Southern Forests & Valleys, and free travel guides covering all regions in Western Australia.

‘We Love Local’ – browse our range of locally made art, crafts, produce, and tourist memorabilia to find that one of a kind gift.

Boyup Brook is renowned for its Collections. In the Visitor Information Centre we house the following collections, and have brochures on many others you can visit during your stay.

  • The Keith Carnaby Beetle & Butterfly Collection – the only place in Australia that you can view any part of this amazing collection.
  • Ivan Barnaby Birds Eggs
  • The Kradals Doll Collection – Part of a comprehensive collection accumulated over 20 years by Ede Tuckett
  • A display of Gemstones of Western Australia
  • Kirup Conglomerate Rocks – ancient, rounded rocks. Possibly from glacial melt at least 1 million years ago.
  • Aboriginal Artefacts found locally
